$1.13 billion Mega Millions jackpot won in New Jersey

HOBOKEN, N.J. (PIX11) – It finally happened – someone has won the $1.13 billion Mega Millions jackpot.

The winning ticket was sold in New Jersey, according to lottery officials. The winning numbers drawn Tuesday night were 7, 11, 22, 29, 38 and 4.

It’s the fifth-largest jackpot ever. Two people in New York also won $1 million, and a third New York resident won $2 million.

It’s been a nearly four-year-long wait for a jackpot winner in the Garden State and 31 drawings since Mega Millions saw a winner, which was back in December in California.

New Jersey signed up for the Mega Millions lottery in 2002 and has seen 24 jackpot winners.

The Powerball jackpot is at $865 million. The lottery will be drawn on Wednesday night.
