1,000 Flags Ceremony takes place at The Park at River Walk

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Breakfast Rotary Club celebrated to the annual One Thousand Flags Ceremony at the Park at River Walk Saturday.

On May 25, the ceremony opened with a flag raising, a bagpipes performance and several speeches. A military skydive by Comrades & Canopies and a veteran fly-by will take place on Memorial Day.

Organizers say they’ve been trying to arrange the event of remembrance for half a decade.
