Zion & Lennox's 'Motivan2' Debuts at No. 1 on Top Latin Albums Chart

Billboard

Reggaeton duo Zion & Lennox score its first No. 1 on Top Latin Albums, as Motivan2 debuts atop the Oct. 22-dated list with 3,000 copies sold in the week ending Oct. 6, according to Nielsen Music.

It's the first album in six years for the Puerto Rican pair, which debuted in 2004 with Motivando A La Yal, peaking at No. 32. A special edition of the set was released in 2005 and reached No. 10. Most recently, Los Verdaderos debuted and peaked at No. 10 in 2010.

Meanwhile, the new album's single "Otra Vez," featuring J Balvin, spends a ninth week on Hot Latin Songs, stepping 8-7 (it previously peaked at No. 6 on the Oct. 1 chart). The song has its highest weekly stream count yet (in the week ending Oct. 11), logging 1.3 million U.S. clicks (up 6 percent). The bulk of its streams stem from 573,000 YouTube views, while Spotify closely trails with 510,000 plays. Rising streams concurrently lift the track 17-15 on the Latin Streaming Songs chart. A music video for the song has gathered over 91 million views worldwide since being released on Aug. 5.

In addition to Balvin, several big acts are featured on the new set including Nicky Jam, R. Kelly, Maluma and Farruko.

Lead single "Embriagame" spent 26 weeks on the Hot Latin Songs chart earlier this year, peaking at No. 11 (April 30 chart).

'Bailar' Dances Into Top 10: Elvis Crespo earns his tenth top 10 on Hot Latin Songs, as Deorro's "Bailar" - which features Crespo - rises 16-10. The tropical-infused dance track is in its 14th charting frame.

"Bailar" is the first Hot Latin Songs entry for Deorro, a Mexican-American DJ from Los Angeles, and his sixth on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs (where the track steps 16-15). He previously peaked at No. 6 on the latter chart alongside Chris Brown with "Five More Hours" (June 27, 2015 chart).

The latest single earns the Airplay Gainer tag on Hot Latin Songs, soaring 46 percent to 7.5 million audience impressions in the week ending Oct. 9. However, while the song is sung in Spanish, Latin radio stations only account for 10 percent of its total airplay points.  The majority of audience impressions (83 percent) come from pop and rhythmic radio. The track currently resides just below the 40-position thresholds of both the Rhythmic Songs and Pop Songs charts, with gains at each format.

Digital sales also spur "Bailar's" top 10 rise, with 4,000 downloads (up 13 percent) - also powering a 3-1 climb on the Latin Digital Songs chart, earning both Crespo and Deorro their first No. 1 ever on the chart. Streaming also reaches a new high, collecting 786,000 streams (up 1 percent), with Spotify accounting for 50 percent of total plays.

'Vacaciones' Arrives:  Reggaeton star Wisin earns his 13th entry on Hot Latin Songs (as a solo act), as "Vacaciones" takes that Hot Shot Debut at No. 34. The debut marks his 50th career entry - including those as part of the duo Wisin & Yandel.

"Vacaciones" arrives with 3.8 million audience impressions at Latin radio (up 206 percent), earning the top debut on the Latin Airplay chart (No. 37).

A music video for the song is planned to be shot in Mexico in October. The track will appear on Wisin's forthcoming album, which has not yet been announced.
