While Zaytoven is known for his collaborations with Gucci Mane and Migos, the heavyweight beatmaker is gearing up for his own debut album. To kick things off, Zaytoven recruited Guwop and 21 Savage for his new song "East Atlanta Day."
Over the booming production, Gucci pays homage to East Atlanta by doing a roll-call for the prominent cities in the area. "This for Edgewood, this for Kirkwood, I brought Glenwood in this b---h/ Got me feeling like a young n---a, might pull up with the stick," he feverishly raps.
"I was talking to Gucci and wanted to go back to the old sounding Gucci and Zay on this release," Zaytoven tells Billboard of the track. "A anthem for the Trap -- Trap Holiday -- East Atlanta Day"
21 Savage adds his gangsta flare to the record by delving into some of his past affairs in the streets of Atlanta. "21 & PDE that's the East Atlanta gang / I shot a lot of n---as with this East Atlanta K / I robbed a lot of n---as in North Atlanta for that yay / They didn't get no straightening but they feel some type of way," he spews.
Zaytoven is currently on the road for Gucci Mane's Trap God tour and recently performed his own set at Coachella while assisting Future's show on the keys.
In an interview with Billboard last January, Zaytoven spoke on the importance of delivering a memorable live show. "I think it brings a whole 'nother dimension," he said regarding his performance game. "For a producer, I've been behind the scenes my whole career. So now, it's showmanship I'm taking pride in -- being on stage, playing the piano even on the DJ set. Now, all new doors have opened for me and I think it comes from being consistent and relevant the whole ten, twelve years I've been doing it. So now I could show a whole 'nother side of Zaytoven and people respect it."
