Zayn Celebrates First No. 1 Song with Balloons – and Praise for Girlfriend Gigi Hadid

Zayn is back on top – and he's got the balloons to prove it.

Celebrating the success of his debut solo single "Pillowtalk" – which rocketed to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart its first week – the former One Direction star looked ready to pop with excitement in the shot he Instagrammed of his festivities.

"Thank you to all my fans and supporters," the singer (full name: Zayn Malik) said in a statement, "We have achieved this together, and I am grateful."

The singer dropped the track and its PDA-filled video – featuring girlfriend Gigi Hadid – on Jan. 29.

"Pillowtalk" is just the 25th song to debut at No. 1 in its first week, and Malik is in good company: He joins the ranks as such artists as Adele, Britney Spears and Mariah Carey. And the singer even eclipsed his former band, as One Direction's highest chart entry was with "Best Song Ever", which entered the Hot 100 chart at No. 2 in 2013.

Malik's chart feat caps off an impressive month for the 23-year-old Brit: In addition to the single's success, he announced his first album, Mind of Mine, which will be released on March 25, 2016, the one-year anniversary of his 1D departure.

And while he celebrated his single's success, Malik wasn't too busy to praise girlfriend Hadid, who just landed the cover of Vogue Paris. The singer took to social, Retweeting the magazine's cover image, captioning it succinctly with the "okay hand sign" and "smiling face with heart-shaped eyes" emojis.
