Yoko Ono-Curated Exhibit Brings “The Simpsons” Yoko Joke to Life

By Kevin Lozano.

Yoko Ono curated a recent exhibit at the Reykjavik Art Museum called “Yoko Ono: One More Story...,” which features work that spans her career, as well as pieces from other artists. One of the pieces on display by the artist Ragnar Kjartansson brought to life a classic “The Simpsons” joke about Yoko Ono. In the 1993 episode “Homer’s Barbershop Quartet,” a character based on Ono orders a “single plum, floating in perfume, served in a mans hat” at Moe’s Tavern. Kjartansson’s work in the exhibit is literally just that. Below, you can find photos from the exhibit, as well as a clip from “The Simpsons” episode in question.
