With the holidays right around the corner, YG is looking to stuff everyone's Christmas stockings earlier than expected. On Friday (Nov 25), the Compton rapper will unleash his new Red Friday mixtape as a CD retailing for $100.
YG posted the news on his Twitter on Monday (Nov. 21) and offered fans the opportunity to participate in a meet-and-greet with him after purchasing the album at an in-store event in Oakland.
"THE WORLDS 2ND $100 CD," he wrote on Twitter. "SUPER FANS & SUPER SUPPORTERS ONLY. Mixtape in - store and signing In #OAKLAND."
YG will only be shipping out 1,400 physical copies, though Red Friday will also be available digitally.
You may recall that his "FDT" collaborator Nipsey Hussle was also the first artist to implement this strategy of having fans pay $100 when he released his Crenshaw mixtape in 2013 as part of his Proud2Pay campaign.
