Wiz Khalifa Handcuffed in Alleged Hoverboard Incident

Wiz Khalifa was handcuffed at Los Angeles’ LAX airport Saturday following an incident between the rapper and Customs and Border Patrol officers involving a hoverboard. Video posted by Khalifa shows his refusal to disembark from the device, resulting in his apprehension. “Haven’t been slammed and cuffed in a while. That was fun,” Khalifa tweeted.

“All because I didn’t want to ditch the [technology] everyone will be using in the next 6 months. Do what you want kids,” Khalifa tweeted after the incident. “What’s even funnier than [the cops] not bein able to do shit is they’ll be riding them soon as well. Maybe ones I design. I stand for our generation and our generation is gonna be riding hover boards so if you don’t like it eat a d—!”

The “See You Again” rapper posted a pair of short videos from the moments right before he was detained. In the first video, Khalifa is seen interacting with the police, telling them “they can’t do nothing” about him riding his hoverboard. In the next clip, Khalifa is seen on the ground surrounded by three cops who tell him to “get on the ground” and stop resisting. Khalifa assures the officers, “I’m not resisting” as he’s being handcuffed.

Representatives for Khalifa did not reply to Rolling Stone’s request for comment.

This isn’t the first time Khalifa used social media to document a run-in with airport law enforcement: In May 2014, the rapper took a selfie from jail after getting busted for marijuana at an El Paso, Texas airport. The arrest slightly delayed the arrival of Khalifa’s then-new mixtape 28 Grams. “"They’re tryna figure out how many grams I had,” Khalifa noted. “How ironic.”
