Watch U2 Play New Anti-Trump Version of 'Bullet the Blue Sky' on 'Fallon'
U2 stopped by “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” last night to perform Joshua Tree track “Bullet the Blue Sky” and new single “You’re the Best Thing About Me.” During the former song’s monologue section, Bono changed the lyrics to reference Trump. One modified lyric: “Ground shakes but the children can’t weep/Vaporized in a single tweet.” The new lyrics have since appeared in full on the band’s website. Watch it happen below.
“You’re the Best Thing About Me” appears on U2’s new album Songs of Experience, out December 1; they’ve also shared “The Blackout” from the LP. The band are presently wrapping up their extended Joshua Tree anniversary tour.
