Watch Talib Kweli Rap About the Surveillance State on 'Full Frontal With Samantha Bee'

“Be the black Edward Snowden,” he jokes in the segment with Ashley Nicole Black.

By Jazz Monroe.

Talib Kweli takes on the surveillance state in a new segment for “Full Frontal With Samantha Bee” on TBS, as Rolling Stone points out. After an amusing Ashley Nicole Black investigation into privacy rights, Kweli joins her to flip his Kanye-produced track “Get By” into a testament to the benefits of encryption and diligent privacy monitoring. Check it out below; the track starts around the 5:45 mark.

Kweli raps:

Lock your phone with a passcode

Or what you're downloading gets stolen

Basically be the black Edward Snowden ...

The N.Y.P.D. put the troll in patrol

They online collecting everything we post from Twitter to Vine (R.I.P.)

Unencrypted apps let 'em have all your data that's private

Like every dick pic that you text to your side chick

Your spy shit, they're trying to take us fifty years back

Fuck your password, get ready for Revenge of the Black Nerds
