Watch Lorde’s TV Ad Teasing New Music

Something is happening on March 2, according to ad aired in New Zealand last night

By Jazz Monroe.

Lorde took out an ad spot on New Zealand TV last night, teasing activity on March 2, the Spinoff reports. Multiple Twitter accounts posted home-recorded videos of the ad, which lasts about 15 seconds and features Lorde in the back of a vehicle as a snippet of upbeat music plays. Watch it below. She’s been at work on the follow-up to 2013’s Pure Heroine, keeping fans updated via social media and promising work that, in contrast to her last album’s “enshrining [of] teenage glory,” is “about what comes next.” (A previously published [Republic](http://www.republicplaybook.com/track/drake-fake-love/) release schedule had suggested new music would arrive on March 7.) Lorde will appear at festivals this year including Coachella, Bonnaroo, and Governors Ball.

Pitchfork has contacted Lorde’s representatives for comment.
