Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein has directed a new short film, The Realest Real, for KENZO’s fall-winter campaign. It premiered during KENZO’s New York Fashion Week show and you can now watch it on YouTube, below. Directed and written by Brownstein, the film parodies the social-media era: “Followers,”“the cloud,” and the buzzword of endearment “mom” are all manifested as “really real” physical realities, via a shady establishment called the Institute of the Real. The film stars Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon alongside Laura Harrier, Mahershala Ali, Natasha Lyonne, and Rowan Blanchard.
