In essence, he was there through the thick of the burgeoning punk rock scene, which is why filmmaker Brendan Toller chose Fields as the subject for his upcoming documentary. Danny Says premiered back in 2015 at South By Southwest, where it received immediate praise and its arrival has since been highly anticipated.

Toller's first feature documentary, I Need That Record! went on to help shape the "vinyl resurgence" in the 2000s, as it chronicled independent record stores and their importance in the digital age. This time around, Toller's focus has shifted from the inanimate to the highly animated.
