"Danny was a catalyst for a lot of people," a woman's voice says over a heavy rock riff that begins the trailer for the upcoming documentary Danny Says. Danny Fields ​is an incredibly influential force and pivotal member of the music industry, as he has worn the hat of music manager, executive, publicist, journalist, author and more.

His career includes countless coups and collaborations with the likes of The Doors, Lou Reed, The Ramones, Alice Cooper and several others. In essence, he was there through the thick of the burgeoning punk rock scene, which is why filmmaker Brendan Toller chose Fields as the subject for his upcoming documentary. Danny Says premiered back in 2015 at South By Southwest, where it received immediate praise and its arrival has since been highly anticipated.

Toller's first feature documentary, I Need That Record! went on to help shape the "vinyl resurgence" in the 2000s, as it chronicled independent record stores and their importance in the digital age. This time around, Toller's focus has shifted from the inanimate to the highly animated.

In a never before seen clip, being shared exclusively with Billboard, Cooper says "Danny was in the middle of it all." He continues to say that guys like Danny are "always sort of in the wings, but they're always the most effective people."
