Alanis Morissette may have vented the rage of countless jilted ‘90s girlfriends when she exploded onto alt-rock radio with her bunnyboiling anthem “You Oughta Know” two decades ago, but hell truly hath no fury like a Golden Girl scorned. Or, like a drag queen scorned.

Case in point: RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 5 finalist and Drag Race All-Stars 2 winner Alaska 5000’s deliciously vicious version of the Alanis classic, from the fan-favorite queen’s new revue at New York’s Laurie Beechman Theatre, On Golden Girls. In the show, Alaska channels Sophia, Blanche, and Rose (the latter during a St. Olaf-themed cover of Bette Midler’s “The Rose,” natch) — but her centerpiece performance is “You Oughta Know,” in which a resplendently shoulder-padded Alaska/Dorothy blasts that no-good Stanley for ending their 38-year marriage over an affair with some floozy flight attendant.

Picture it: Miami, 1995…

Alaska has made her love for The Golden Girls well known over the years. At RuPaul’s DragCon 2016, she guested on a panel about the beloved sitcom, and at the opening of a Drag Race-themed Los Angeles boutique last year, she belted the Golden Girls theme song with her Season 5 castmate, Jinkx Monsoon.

Alaska’s On Golden Girls continues at the Laurie Beechman Theatre through Sunday, Aug. 13.
