Video Premiere: Nora Rothman Debuts 'Truth or Dare'

Singer/songwriter Nora Rothman was clearly born to be an entertainer. The child of two Hollywood creatives, she laid down her first recording at age 3, at 11 wrote her first song, and at 16 she played her first professional show. Now 26 years old, Rothman has honed a soulful folk sound that is uniquely her own.

After taking a break from music to work as a field organizer for Hillary Clinton, Rothman has ramped back up in the music world and has released her debut self-titled EP July 21, a three-song set that shows off her vocal range and carefully crafted songwriting. Yahoo Music is pleased to debut the lyric video for one of these songs, “Truth or Dare,” which was shot in Pakistan by Pakistani illustrator and social media influencer Areeba Siddique.

“I’m a huge fan of Areeba’s, so I was absolutely giddy when she came back to me excited to do this collaboration,” says Rothman. “To me, art is about empathy—about crossing divides, whether they’re geographical, emotional, political, religious, etc. I can’t think of a more perfect way to celebrate the release of this EP.”

As a professional vocalist, Rothman soloed at the KJazz Fall Benefit Concert, toured through Italy, played at the inaugural Life is Beautiful Festival in Vegas, and collaborated with visionary director Nathan Kim on their video “Strange // Humanshapes.” She is also an accomplished actress who has starred in Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders and the acclaimed indie film Hunky Dory.
