Video Premiere: Ex Makina Debuts Lush 'Breath'

Producer/songwriter Iain Campbell grew up in relative obscurity spending his young life travelling with his parents who worked out of remote medical field stations in Africa. After settling in the village of Harviestoun, Scotland, a devastating neurological illness in the family led Campbell into a 12-year journey of attempting to understand a level of pain he didn’t think possible at this early stage in life. This period of time was documented in several EPs which, through many serendipitous circumstances, plucked Campbell out of village life and landed him with a six figure record contract at the age of 20.

Campbell and three of his close friends headlined a stage at Glastonbury, played the BBC Electric Proms and grew a cult following in the UK underground scene. He went on to become assistant to Hollywood film composer Harry Gregson-Williams, where he began a new project: Ex Makina.

Yahoo Music is excited to premiere the video for the single “Breath,” which features vocals from Campbell’s newly married wife Rebecca.

“The song is about anchoring life in the present moment when everything in the world seems to be in chaos,” he explains. “It’s about discovering an impenetrable place within yourself from which you can choose to act in strength, empathy and peace — one breath at a time.”
