Video Premiere: Chris Cornell Debuts ‘The Promise’

When Chris Cornell was tasked with writing a song for a film detailing events of the Armenian Holocaust, he took the challenge seriously. Considering the history and emotion involved, he did his research and came up with the lushly orchestral and emotional “The Promise,” which shares its name with the film.

Yahoo Music is excited to debut the music trailer for the movie The Promise, which includes many glimpses of the film for fans to experience.

The movie stars Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Ex Machina), Christian Bale (The Fighter, The Dark Knight Trilogy), Charlotte Le Bon (The Walk), and Angela Sarafyan (Westworld), and is directed by Terry George. It is in theaters April 21.

Cornell has pledged he will donate his proceeds from the song to the International Rescue Committee, a group that responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises, helping to restore health, safety, education, economic well-being, and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster.
