After falling from fashion's relevance in recent years, Juicy Couture has made a bedazzled comeback in collaboration with Vetements' Paris Couture Week debut. This was a victory for the iconic American brand as well as a victory for the velour tracksuit that has defined its aesthetic. Since early 2016, the beloved two-piece set worn by Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez and Eva Longoria in the early 2000s has been resurfacing across the runways, music and art.
The Juicy Couture #TRACKISBACK campaign, which launched back in July, is pushing the tracksuit into high fashion's sphere of laid-back, edgy and nostalgic outfits. The hashtag is also increasingly popping up on Twitter and Instagram, suggesting that the throwback velour tracksuit is back in style and here to stay. Solange Knowles just dropped a music video for her song "Don't Touch My Hair" off her new record A Seat at the Table, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The visual delivers a free-spirited vibe that grooves along to the soulful beat and showcases a variety of hairstyles. One scene features Knowles dancing with an all-male ensemble rocking finger waves and wearing orange velour tracksuits by American sportswear brand Akademiks. The striking color complements Solange's expertly curated palettes, and the sweatshirt silhouette tops are suited to a more masculine physique.

Grazing the cover of last month's Wonderland magazine is Kim Kardashian wearing a Juicy Couture velour tracksuit, hot pink from head to toe. The dreamy, warm-hued signatures of Petra Collin's photography and Zara Mirkin's styling bring to life an angelic Kardashian donning loungewear. But this look is nothing new for Kim. On her website, she posted a collection of throwback tracksuit ensembles, writing, "I was SO obsessed with those classic Juicy Couture tracksuits a few years ago, and had them in every color. I still have all of mine, I can't let them go LOL!"
Designers on the runway have shown us what will be in style for this year: more velour. Stella McCartney's Fall/Winter 2016 runway featured an all-black velour suit with a tuxedo-style top including sheer shoulders for an unexpected twist. These looks were styled with a metallic top for an elegant feel. The Chloe Spring 2016 show featured a sportier version of the velour tracksuit, which included a mock turtleneck for those colder days.

The most famous velour tracksuit by Juicy Couture is back! The 21-year-old brand closed all its stores back in 2014, focusing only on online sales and retailing at Kohl's. It has since reopened locations internationally, promoting the Juicy Couture Black Label Collection and collaborating with Bloomingdale's on a capsule collection. For the Bloomingdale's exclusive, the classic 2000s tracksuit has been revamped with jogger style bottoms, but is still available in the four classic colors: pitch black, golden camel, dragon fruit and whisper pink.
The Victoria and Albert Museum in London has an ongoing exhibit (ending in March 2017) titled Undressed: A Brief History of Underwear. The exhibition illustrates how, historically, underwear, pajamas and loungewear have evolved into fashion worn beyond the comforts of home. Of course, the velour tracksuit plays a role in this evolution. The display moves through the history of underwear, starting from the conservative undergarments worn by Queen Victoria, to a sheer dress worn by Kate Moss.
