The stars of HBO’s Veep visited Conan and recalled the insults from the show that hurt them the most. The characters on Veep are known to trade savage and cutting barbs. Even though they know it’s all in good fun, the actors said they were not immune to the sting of the put-downs.
Sam Richardson lamented the fact that he resembled a vulgarly described Paddington Bear. Matt Walsh said he was hurt the most when he was called a “gay Irish fireman.”
Tony Hale explained that the insults that hurt him the most are the ones made up by his fellow castmates and not the show’s writers. He said that Reid Scott once called him “cow eyes.”
