We already knew Tool was dipping into the festival circuit for summer 2017; now, the alt-metal outfit has shared a brief run of tour dates to go alongside gigs at Governors Ball and Boston Calling.
Tool announced the arena trek Monday (March 13), beginning with a May 24 stop in Fairfax, Va. So far, the itinerary for Maynard James Keenan and company ends June 8 in Chicago, four days after its headlining spot at Gov Ball in New York City. In between, they'll hit a handful of other markets in the Northeast, Midwest and Canada. Tickets go on sale to the general public March 17, while ToolArmy members get early access two days prior.
While Tool live dates have not been a complete scarcity (they toured the South and West Coast in early 2016), the band has not delivered new music since its 2006 full length, 10,000 Days. When are we getting the long-awaited follow-up? There's still no release date, but back on Feb. 16, Tool's official website reported Keenan was working on vocals for new material and that the band had -- gasp -- moved some of its gear to a new location. Progress!
Here is Tool's upcoming itinerary:
May 24: Fairfax, Va. (Eaglebank Arena)
May 27: Bangor, Maine (Darling's Waterfront Pavilion)
May 28: Boston, Mass. (Boston Calling)
May 30: Rochester, NY (Blue Cross Arena)
