The Latest YouTube Star: Beyoncé in Her Surprise Video, ‘7/11’!
Beyoncé has made some big-budget videos in her career, but few of them were ever as compulsively watchable/GIFable as her just-dropped low-budget promo for her new banger, “7/11.”
In many ways, “7/11,” which was spontaneously shot while Beyoncé was on tour and features her backup dancers, resembles the thousands of amateur lip-synch clips currently clogging YouTube. Except, of course, it’s by Beyoncé, so it’s flawless.
Dancing slumber-party girls in matching Y-fronts? Check. Red solo cups? Check. Herky-jerky editing and cheap webcam footage? Yep and yep. Impromptu twerking routines on hotel balconies? Sure. A moment when Beyoncé pretends her right foot is a cell phone, for some reason? Of course.
Beyoncé even included shots of her messy bedroom, because hey, she woke up like this.
"7/11" is a new track from the Platinum Edition of Beyoncé, which comes out next week.
