Taylor Swift Stuns as a Brunette in ‘Wildest Dreams’ Premiere
Taylor Swift has been on a winning streak lately with her string of surprising moves, including daring fashion choices, over the past few months. One would think it would be hard to top her last buzzy move, the massively star-studded and highly pre-hyped video for “Bad Blood.” However, Swift, of course, managed to rise to the occasion.
Much chatter circulated regarding Swift’s debut of the video for her latest, “Wildest Dreams,” which she was set to debut at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards. Already teased on social was the fact that she’d have a totally different look, and costar next to impossibly handsome Clint Eastwood scion Scott Eastwood.
As expected, Swift delivered. In a video reminiscent of 1951’s The African Queen, Swift surprisingly carries off a brunette hairstyle – and, less surprisingly, Katharine Hepburn-worthy trousers – with aplomb. She also frolics with a cast of exotic indigenous animals, including zebras and a lion (which she poses frighteningly near to). It’s clear that the lush production commanded a top budget, with the results being expectedly stunning. Eastwood himself served as an appealing prop, there to assist the undeniable queen of everything shine in her latest incarnation.
Swift—-blond, not brunette–started the evening out on a high note, walking the VMAs carpet in a two-piece sequined set. The superstar led all nominations for the 2015 VMAs, with a total of nine including the premier award, Video of the Year (for “Bad Blood). The 2015 VMAs were hosted by Miley Cyrus and aired live on August 30 from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
