Taylor Swift Becomes Top New Artist of the 2000s
As of this week, Taylor Swift has sold more albums in the U.S. than any other artist who has emerged since January 2000. Swift's current album,1989, sold 214K copies this week, which enables her to surpass Linkin Park on Nielsen SoundScan's running tally of best-selling album artists. That's impressive because Linkin Park had a six-year head-start on Swift. (Of the 20 best-selling album artists to emerge since 2000, only Adele debuted after Swift.) Here's the list.
