T.I. Defends Beyonce’s Super Bowl Performance And Calls The Backlash “Un American”

"I don’t think that Beyoncé was being malicious in any way in her demonstration."

T.I. has been known to make a few eye-browsing comments in the past, but when it comes to Beyonce’s Super Bowl 50 halftime performance that has drummed up much controversy, Tip is in full support of Queen Bey.

TMZ caught up with the ATLien while walking through an airport and he seemed a bit taken back by the news of a forthcoming protest scheduled for the day her “Formation” world tour tickets go on sale.

“How are they going to protest against our protest?” Tip said jokingly. “I don’t think that Beyoncé was being malicious in any way in her demonstration, and I feel that anything that is done to demonstrate against a pure demonstration is going to lose in the end.”

T.I. continued by saying the notion of a protest against Beyonce’s politically charged halftime performance goes against the very grain of the American culture.

“Everything that we’re doing as far as the Black Lives Matter movement, it is to speak out and fight against unnecessary, unlawful deaths of our people by people who are supposed to be put in a position of authority to protect and serve our people,” T.I. said. “So if you are against that, then to me, that is un-American.”
