Surprise! Bjork’s New Album ‘Vulnicura’ Is Out Now

by Chris Payne

Do release dates really mean anything anymore?

Bjork’s eighth studio album Vulnicura was supposed to drop during March 2015, but an unwanted leak appears to have accelerated the process.

The Icelandic sound wizard just announced that her new album will come early, dropping worldwide today (Jan. 20) via iTunes. CD and vinyl versions will still come out on an undisclosed date in March, as originally planned.

At publishing time, the album wasn’t available in the U.S. iTunes store, although samples of all nine songs can be heard here.

Bjork’s New Album Features a Very Creepy Producer

The album was produced and recorded with Venezuelan producer/Kanye West collaborator Arca and spook-tastic British musician The Haxan Cloak. Arca co-wrote two tracks and Spaces co-wrote one other. All tracks were produced or co-produced by Bjork, who also composed the string arrangements.

And if you’re hoping to see Bjork’s live show, plan on being in New York over the next six months. Her upcoming dates — all in NYC — are listed below:
