Sufjan Stevens Announces New Mixtape 'The Greatest Gift'

Today, Sufjan Stevens released Carrie & Lowell Live, an audiovisual album recorded during his tour behind 2015’s excellent Carrie & Lowell.In addition to the live album, Sufjan has announced another Carrie & Lowell companion piece. The Greatest Gift Mixtape — Outtakes, Remixes, & Demos from Carrie & Lowellis due out October 20 via Asthmatic Kitty. It includes unreleased songs from the album sessions, as well as iPhone recordings and remixes from Helado Negro, Doveman, and more. The Greatest Gift will be released on cassette, LP, and digital formats. Check out the cover art and tracklist below.

Sufjan has also announced a new 12” single featuring the Carrie & Lowell Live versions of “Blue Bucket of Gold” and the Drake “Hotline Bling” cover featuring Gallant. You can pre-order it now at Asthmatic Kitty, with records expected to ship in September.

Sufjan is set to release Planetarium**—a collaborative record with the National’s Bryce Dessner, Nico Muhly, and drummer James McAlister—in June. The group will embark on a brief tour this summer.
