St. Vincent Directing New Picture of Dorian Gray Movie

A female-led adaption of the Oscar Wilde novel

Annie Clark (aka St. Vincent) is directing a film adaption of Oscar Wilde’s novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, according to Variety. In her version, the protagonist will be a woman. Lionsgate is developing the film, which will be written by David Birke. The Picture of Dorian Gray will mark Clark’s second directorial venture. Last year, she made her debut with The Birthday Party, which was part of the horror anthology XX. Read Pitchfork‘s interview with Clark about the film.
