Spike Lee Not Using Chrisette Michele Music Due to Trump Performance

By Jazz Monroe.

Director Spike Lee says he won’t use R&B singer Chrisette Michele’s music following her decision to perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration. Yesterday, Michele explained that her “heart is broken for our country” but she’s “willing to be a bridge” by performing. In response, Lee said he’d no longer consider including her song “Black Girl Magic” in his upcoming Netflix series, “She’s Gotta Have It,” which is based on his directorial breakthrough film of the same name.
