Song premiere: Joe Satriani debuts 'Catbot'

World-renowned guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani is poised to release his 16th solo album, What Happens Next, Jan. 12 on Sony/Legacy Recordings. The release features Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee bassist Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple/Black Country Communion) and the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ drummer Chad Smith, the latter reuniting with Satriani for the first time since their work in the supergroup Chickenfoot.

While the entire album is a vortex of serious energy, much critical and fan interest has been swirling about for the album’s track “Catbot,” which Satriani explains simply: “What if your robot cat got out at night and tried to hang out with real cats? That’s what this song is the soundtrack to.”
