Song Premiere: ‘Bad Thing’ by The Mowgli’s Sounds Very Good
Californian alt-pop sextet the Mowgli’s are preparing to release their third album, Where’d Your Weekend Go?, produced by Mike Green (Paramore, All Time Low) — but you can hear an irresistibly catchy new track from the LP, “Bad Thing,” right now, via this exclusive Yahoo Music premiere.
“’Bad Thing’ explores loneliness, a theme that shows itself a lot on this record. The song is about the desire to connect with other people as a means of escaping loneliness; only to find out that loneliness still lingers… which maybe isn’t such a bad thing,” the group’s singer, Katie Jayne Earl, tells Yahoo. The song was produced by Rob Ellmore (Selena Gomez, Zedd, the Veronicas) and mixed by Green.
Where’d Your Weekend Go?, which Earl describes as “the truest representation of who we are, not just as individuals, but as a band…the most honest thing we’ve ever done,” comes out Sept. 30 on Photo Finish Records.
