Sigur Rós Get Their Own THC Edibles

By Sam Sodomsky.

In one of the year’s better merchandising partnerships, “leading cannabis brand” Lord Jones have teamed up with Sigur Rós for their very own edibles. According to a press release, the limited-edition “Wild Sigurberry” THC-infused “medicated gumdrops” are “inspired by the flavors of foraged Icelandic berries” (blackberries, strawberries, and blueberries) and will be available in five dosage options. Below, see images of the packaging, which includes nine gumdrops and a Sigur Rós crest illustrated by Andrew Rae. The Wild Sigurberry gumdrops will be available to qualified medical marijuana patients at select California dispensaries, as well as through the company’s website for delivery.

In a statement, Lord Jones founder Robert Rosenheck said of the project, “For us, it really is a dream come true to collaborate with Sigur Rós. Their music has been more than an inspiration to us over the years.”

To celebrate the collaboration, Sigur Rós and Lord Jones will co-host a “sound bath” at NeueHouse in Hollywood on April 18, where attendees can sample the gumdrops before experiencing “multimedia collaborations” from the band, featuring “moments in sound, film, and VR.”

If you can't make it to the sound bath, you could always just smoke some weed and watch Pitchfork's live stream of Sigur Rós’ performance with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall this Friday, as part of our new series Pitchfork Live. Tune in at 8:50 p.m. Pacific/11:50 p.m. Eastern on our homepage and via Facebook Live. See the band’s current tour itinerary here.
