See Ellen DeGeneres Show Breakout Greyson Chance All Grown Up!

Greyson Chance is back and better than ever.

After getting his big break on The Ellen DeGeneres Show when he performed a rendition of Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" in April 2010, Chance, then just 12, accrued a massive fan base and subsequent success.

His talent took him around the world – and got him a record deal – but in recent years, Chance has led a more quiet life away from the lights and crowds of concert venues.



But not any longer.

After a three-year hiatus from major performances, Chance, now 18, hit the stage at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, Calif., on Jan. 27 and The Studio at Webster Hall in New York City on Monday.

"It was honestly overwhelming to be back on stage again," Chance tells PEOPLE. "I was super nervous for these shows considering I had been away from touring for quite some time, but after getting back under the lights and seeing the fans I felt instantly comfortable again."

Chance gave audiences a taste of his new music, including his newly released single, "Hit & Fun," which will be featured on his upcoming album, Somewhere Over My Head.

"To see them respond to the new music and to 'Hit & Run' made it all the better for me," he says. "They are the same fans, everyone is just a little older and taller."

"Hit & Run" is available now and Somewhere Over My Head is expected to drop later this year.
