Sawyer Fredericks Takes It All: Catching Up With the ‘Voice’ Champ

This week marked the welcome return of The Voice Season 8’s “iTunes king,” reigning champ Sawyer Fredericks, who not only performed his new single “Take It All” on Wednesday’s live results show, but also surprise-dropped his new self-titled, four-song EP – a little something to tide his rabid fans over until his full album for Republic Records comes out next spring.

While in Los Angeles for his Voice performance, the 16-year-old indie-folk wunderkind visited Yahoo Music for a little chat about his post-Voice journey, covering everything from his work with former coach Pharrell Williams on his forthcoming album and signing on with Ray LaMontagne’s manager; to his new duet with his Voice co-star Mia Z. and his fight to maintain artistic control; to even his favorite chores back on the Fredericks family farm.
