The House of Blues (2200 N. Lamar St., Dallas) will host the On the Road tour on Monday, May 20.
Those who are unable to attend the show in person will be able to watch online at Yahoo! Music on Monday, when the event will be livestreamed.
Empire of the Sun
Empire of the Sun is the creation of two leading Australian musicians and producers. In 2008, Nick Littlemore (Pnau) and Luke Steele (The Sleepy Jackson) took fans through a psychedelic journey in a post-apocalyptic world with "Walking on a Dream." That album has since sold more than a million copies worldwide. Littlemore and Steele will be using their electric sounds to promote world peace 1,000 years in the future in their new album, "Ice on the Dune," which will be released on June 18. The duo's EDM sounds will be lighting up the scene at the House of Blues on Monday.
Gold Fields' debut album "Black Sun" features a mix of pop, dance, and tribal themes infused with emotion. The quintet has been praised for its "tuneful pop approachability" by The New York Times, and they put on an impressive show at this year's South by Southwest. Those at Yahoo! On the Road in Dallas will quickly catch Gold Fields' rhythm when they play "Moves."
Both Empire of the Sun and Gold Fields are fairly new to Dallas, but they are quickly becoming favorites throughout the U.S. Empire of the Sun's first album, as its impressive sales show, was well-received, and MTV named Gold Fields one of their Artists to Watch in 2013.
