Who would have known that a brilliant music career could be started up on MySpace as recent as 2010? That’s the story of Willy Moon, a New Zealand artist via London. Shortly after Moon uploaded his first song on the social network, the soon-to-be pop star accepted a deal from Island Records. In 2012, his lead single “Yeah Yeah” was featured on a commercial for Apple’s lineup of new iPod products.

He writes, records, and produces everything on his own. Moon doesn’t blend different sounds; he smashes them together. Jack White released “Railroad Track” on his Third Man label and invited Moon to support him on his UK tour.

Moon kicked off 2013 with a 17-city U.S. tour, a performance on NBC’s "Tonight Show with Jay Leno," and a stunning debut at South by Southwest with a packed schedule of performances. Following a slate of U.K. and European festivals and headline dates, he returns to the states next month for more in support of his full-length Here's Willy Moon.
