Sounding unique never posed a problem for Twenty One Pilots, even early on. In fact, it has been a trait that has endeared them to fans.
Hailing from Columbus, Ohio, Twenty One Pilots started out like most acts, but instead of aimlessly touring, they concentrated on their hometown base. Before long they were selling out huge local venues. Frontman Tyler Joseph and drummer Josh Dun have built a following that seems primed to fever pitch with their debut release Vessel.
For the debut, the band entered a real studio with Grammy-nominated producer Greg Wells (Weezer, Adele) to craft an album merging hip-hop, indie rock, and punk in way so seamlessly that you will be rapping one minute and caught up in a lush orchestral line the next.
