Salomé Chamber Orchestra

The Salomé Chamber Orchestra performed in New York on May 3 with John Legend as part of the Yahoo! On the Road tour.

The Salomé Chamber Orchestra was founded in September 2009 by the Carpenter siblings (violinists Sean and Lauren and violist David). New York City’s electrifying new conductorless string ensemble consists of top-ranking graduates from the Curtis Institute of Music and Julliard School, among many top-tier universities and conservatories.

Salomé leverages the universal language and healing power of music to collaborate with other non-profit organizations in raising awareness for its philanthropy and broadening the audience of classical music. It has collaborated with leading soloists, including Alan Gilbert, pianist and conductor Christoph Eschenbach, violist David Aaron Carpenter, singers Rufus Wainwright, John Legend, Natasha Bedingfield, and many more.

The orchestra had its inaugural Salomé Music Festival at the Hamptons in August 2012, garnering press in the Chicago Tribune and People magazine, as well as features in the New York Times, Vogue, and Wall Street Journal.
