Kings of Leon Storm 'Temple' on 'Fallon'
The rockers seemed relaxed onstage as Caleb Followill sang about taking a shot to the head for an object of desire in a game of rock & roll roulette. "I've got my hands in my pocket / And I'm crossing my fingers," Followill crooned.
Although bassist Jared Followill has described Mechanical Bull as "the most immature album ever made," the band has taken on a new maturity after a pause following Caleb Followill's meltdown in Dallas in July 2011.
"Back then, we were trying to do something that people remember," the singer told Rolling Stone. "Now I'm trying to do something that makes my daughter proud. One day, hopefully I'll still be here, but if I'm not, she'll be like, 'My dad was fuckin' cool.'"
The band will perform Saturday in Central Park as part of the Global Citizen Festival, and plans to launch a tour in support of the album in early 2014.
