Katy Perry's "California Gurls" won out over what could be the summer song of 2013, Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines", with 60% of votes.
From cheeky singer/songwriter to full-blown mega star, Katy Perry gave listeners a glittery, diabetes-inducing look into her sexy, Candyland fantasy world. The first single off her second album Teenage Dream, the 2010 song dominated charts and heralded in a record-breaking run that earned Perry the most #1 songs from a single album since Michael Jackson, with a tie of five each. Not to mention the song is catchy, fun, and unforgettable—just like how a summer fling should be.

Tupac's "California Love" barely won over Nelly's "Hot In Herre" by just five measly votes!
West Coast party jams don’t come too much harder than this All-Star collaboration with Tupac Shakur, Dr. Dre and Roger Troutman over a throbbing, racing, hip-hop beat. This 1995 California anthem, also Pac’s debut on Death Row Records, is accompanied by a Mad Max-meets-The Warriors-themed video that is undoubtedly one of the best of all time.
