RZA Responds to Azealia Banks in Lengthy Facebook Post
Earlier this week, news broke that Azealia Banks had been forcibly removed from a party of Russell Crowe's after being invited to the actor's suite as RZA's guest. Crowe reportedly ejected Banks himself after she made fun of the guests and threatened to cut someone with glass.
Now, RZA has spoken out in this lengthy Facebook post, published not long ago. He claims to have never officially signed her, but says that he let the media publish her claims anyway because he respected her hustle. RZA also talks about casting Banks in his new film, Coco, and said her shoot went well. "Thus my only experience with her had been professional," he writes. "The only brief social moment was at the wrap party. Therefore 'I HAD NO REAL EXPERIENCE OF HER SOCIAL BEHAVIOR...'"
Soon after the film wrapped, RZA claims, Banks hit him up for money, then asked for a record deal, a ticket out to L.A. and a hotel. It was during that stay, says RZA, that the fateful evening went down. "THIS IS NOT A RACE OR GENDER ISSUE," he claims. "I did not hear Russell call her a N::gg::::"
RZA said that after the incident, he made sure Banks got home safe, and he prays that none of the women in his life act the way he saw Banks act that night.
