The same production company that brought New York City a Tiesto show at the Brooklyn Hangar and DJ Snake's Pier 94 performance are about to take its relationship with the city to a whole new level. RPM Presents has gotten its happy hands on six acres of unobstructed waterfront property on Governors Island, just 800 yards south of Manhattan, and it plans to use the beautiful scene for a series of events to kick off in June.
"We are really excited and can't wait to share this one of a kind venue with everyone," RPM Presents founder and CEO Eddie Dean said in a statement. "I have been in love with Governors Island for years and have always loved this part of the Island. We're bringing in top talent with highly curated lineups to match -- and wait until you see the view."
The announcement comes with the promise of a big show: Carl Cox will take over the urban island for a first-ever stateside showcase of his Intec label imprint. The event is an afternoon-into-night mini-festival called Intec Island and is set for June 18. Tickets are on sale now at ticketfly.com for all partiers 18 and older.
With the RPM residency spanning throughout the summer, more event announcements are forthcoming. Check out the new digs below.
