Leading the pack on the weekly slate of Hot Tours (see list, below) is The Rolling Stones with $29 million reported from the final stadium performances on the band’s Zip Code tour that wrapped in mid-July. The tour wraps with $109.7 million grossed from 628,733 tickets sold at 14 concerts.

Sellout crowds packed football venues in Buffalo, N.Y., and Raleigh, N.C., as well as a major league baseball park in Detroit and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the tour’s homestretch.

The Raleigh performance on July 1 drew 40,428 fans and logged $7.9 million in sales at Carter-Finley Stadium on the campus of North Carolina State University. Then on July 4 the Stones played for a crowd of 50,000 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, grossing $6.1 million. Detroit’s Comerica Park followed on July 8 with $6.2 million in revenue from 36,712 sold seats, and the final stadium show on July 11 grossed $8.6 million from a crowd of 49,552 at the home stadium of the NFL’s Buffalo Bills, Ralph Wilson Stadium.

The band did have one final concert in Canada after the stadium run was over, a headlining appearance at the Quebec City Summer Festival on July 15. (Its grosses were not reported to Billboard.)

The Zip Code tour kicked off on May 24 in San Diego. Its highest-grossing stadium performance, held at Orlando’s Citrus Bowl, racked up $9.3 million at the box office on June 12, but Ohio State University’s Ohio Stadium drew the largest crowd. 59,038 fans filled the Columbus venue for a sold out concert on May 30.

The Zip Code run was the Rolling Stones’ third stint on the road since October 2012 with the launch of the 50 & Counting tour, the band’s first touring effort since A Bigger Bang (2005-2007).

Adding worldwide ticket sales from the 50 & Counting tour (2012-2013) and last year’s 14 On Fire trek, the band’s overall concert grosses during the past 33 months top $401 million with 1.8 million fans in attendance at 62 shows (not including festival appearances).

Following the Rolling Stones at No. 2 on the Hot Tours tally is the Dave Matthews Band with $26.2 million in sales reported from the first 30 performances on the jam band’s summer tour through the U.S. and Canada. The tour began in Austin, Texas at the Austin360 Amphitheater on May 13, the first of 41 venues on tap for the North American leg of the tour that wraps in September. Included in this recap are the shows that occurred through July 18, ending with the two-show stand at Klipsch Music Center in the Indianapolis market. Attendance totaled 452,875 at the first 27 venues on the tour, primarily outdoor amphitheaters with two arenas added to the mix.

The tour will include the band’s traditional Labor Day weekend run of shows at The Gorge in Washington state, Sept. 4-6. The final show stateside will be held in Phoenix at Ak-Chin Pavilion on Sept. 13. A 21-city international tour will follow, kicking off in Abu Dhabi on Oct. 8 and wrapping in Dublin on Nov. 13.

Taking the No. 3 ranking is Billy Joel with his return engagement at Boston’s Fenway Park, marking his second consecutive year to perform at the famed ballpark. The July 16 concert’s $4.1 million gross surpassed the sales total from his 2014 show by $340,000. Attendance was a bit lower this year but didn’t vary much – both shows logged over 36,000 sold seats. Ticket prices jumped this year, but again, only slightly. In 2014 the low price was $49.50 with a high of $139.50, and this year’s range was $54.50 to $144.50.
