Rihanna, Adam Driver to Star in Movie Written by Sparks (Yes, the Band)

Amazon Studios just acquired the new Leos Carax film, which begins filming this spring

By Sheldon Pearce.

Rihanna has joined the cast of Annette, an Adam Driver-starring drama written and soundtracked by Sparks, Variety reports. The music-heavy movie marks the 1970s art-pop group’s screenwriting debut; they also composed original songs for it. The film, which Amazon Studios recently acquired, was originally set to star Rooney Mara, but she left due to other commitments. The producers are currently searching for a new female lead. When Annette was announced in November, Rihanna was rumored to be a part of the project. French filmmaker Leos Carax will direct in his English-language debut. Filming begins later this spring.
