During the 29th annual Hispanic Heritage Awards, Prince Royce will be honored with the Inspira Award, a special recognition given to those who are considered role models for the younger generation.
"Royce represents the important voice our community has in this great country, especially for youth," said Hispanic Heritage Foundation president and CEO Jose Antonio Tijerino in a statement. "He is an embodiment of our Latinos On Fast Track (LOFT) initiative which is dynamic, powerful and proud like Royce's music. The Hispanic community has made significant contributions throughout history, and we are proud to recognize that impact in the past, present and future."

The singer/songwriter will also serve as spokesperson for the HHF's youth programs. Becky G was honored with the award and distinction last year.
The Hispanic Heritage Awards recognize the contributions and accomplishments of Latino leaders in various fields while celebrating cultural pride. Other 2016 honorees include J Balvin, who will receive the Vison Award and perform at the ceremony, Angélica María, and the Fania All-Stars.
The awards are set to take place Sept. 22 in Washington, D.C. at the Warner Theater. PBS will broadcast the ceremony on Sept. 30, during their celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month.
