PJ Morton performs "Everything's Gonna Be Alright"
Laura: Long time ago, before things got anywhere close to where we are now, someone posted that people needed to read about the powers that the Constitution assigns to the different branches of government. Congress does not control the FBI. The FBI answers to the Department of Justice. Even if Trump were to get Mueller fired, which won't be easy at all, the FBI will continue the investigation. The director of the FBI is appointed and serves at the President's pleasure. But The Presidents powers have limitations. This is why we have a system of checks and balances. Nixon in an attempt to get rid of the people investigating him, led to a Constitutional crisis. We learned a great deal when things went wrong with Nixon and there was legislation passed to thwart those kinds of attempts to abuse power. Know what the basic facts are. To interfere with the Special Counsel or to undermine his findings is getting into very dangerous territory. These politicians damn well know it. Always good to let them know that the voters damn well know it too.
