The original tape that sold 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians' to E!
On Sunday’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians — 10th Anniversary Special, host Ryan Seacrest treated the studio audience and home viewers to the original sales tape that was used to sell the show to the E! network back in 2007.
“Hey, I’m Kim Kardashian, and I get to live every girl’s dream,” Kardashian, mostly known as Paris Hilton’s friend at the time, opens the video by saying before mentioning, “The paparazzi have begun to notice, too, which is totally surreal. I’m still getting used to them.”
Before Kendall Jenner was a model, Kylie Jenner was in makeup sales, Khloe Kardashian had a fashion line, and Kourtney Kardashian was dealing with co-parenting with Scott Disick, the Kardashians needed another selling point — which is why a portion of the video is dedicated to Kris Jenner.
“She knows this crazy town inside and out because she’s a celebrity in her own right,” Kim says on the video. “Her best friend is Kathy Lee Gifford, and she was married to Robert Kardashian — my dad, and one of O.J. Simpson’s lawyers.”
