He may well be the last person on earth who has never heard of One Direction.

A Devon judge has admitted in court that he doesn’t know who Liam, Zayn, Harry, Niall and Louis are or has heard their best-selling music.

Ian Lawrie QC (above, left), 55, claimed he was a fan of the classical composer Bach than the originally five-strong X Factor band.

The judge made the admission during the case of three people accused of a £150,000 operation to sell fake One Direction t-shirts and hoodies.

He told the court: “Don’t be surprised to hear that I have not heard of One Direction."

Barrister Nick Lewin told the judge not to worry as he was no fan of their music.

‘They are absolutely huge. They are collectively worth about £70 million,’ he said.

‘If you have not heard any of their music, then your honour is definitely blessed.’

Previously Judge Lawrie has admitted he had no idea what a Onesie was.

Still at least he has has the excuse that One Direction have split up - or are at least on a break,

One Direction sprang to fame after appearing in X Factor in 2010 and have since become international superstars.

They began as a five-piece band with Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne.

In March last year Malik announced his departure from the band.

One Direction began a ‘hiatus’ in January this year.

The court case heard that Kenneth Colley, 43, Anna Strzelecka, 40, both of Plymouth, Devon, and Jason Ross, 45, of Newquay, Cornwall, admitted selling counterfeit garments on eBay between 2009 and 2012.

They abused the trademarked band name while selling the goods for up to £19.99.

All three pleaded guilty and will be sentenced later.
