Just days after the world celebrated the 25th anniversary of Nirvana's biggest hit, "Smells Like Teen Spirit," comes word that some conspiracy theorists are claiming that late singer Kurt Cobain is alive and well and playing right-handed guitar in Peru. Because, of course he is.

The rumor picked up steam on Tuesday (Sept. 12) when the U.K.'s Daily Mail pointed to the theory that footage of Peruvian singer Ramiro Saavedra singing "Come As You Are" on a Peruvian talent show in 2012 was proof that Cobain was living in disguise in South America. The official Nirvana Facebook page rolled its eyes at the theory with the perfect amount of early 1990s sarcasm.
"It is true, Kurt is alive," read the FB post. "He needed to learn to play the guitar with his right hand. Finding left-handed guitars is not easy." For the record, Cobain was found dead on April 8, 1994 in his Seattle home and, unlike Saavedra, played the guitar left handed.
