Nick Cannon Salutes West Coast Legend with 'One Night (Tupac Interlude)': Premiere

Billboard

After releasing the Jeremih-assisted track "If I Was Your Man" and tapping TLC's Chilli in the steamy video, Nick Cannon returns with the smooth, after hours-appropriate number "One Night (Tupac Interlude)" that salutes the late West Coast legend.

"Tell me that she need me, cryin' when she leave me/And everytime she see me, squeeze me, take it easy," the rapper/singer/host/personality sings on the racy Jahaan Sweet beat, referencing 'Pac's memorable lines from his 1993 hit "I Get Around." He continues, "I hate to sound sleazy, but tease me, and I don't want it if it's that easy."

"I had a lot of fun on this whole project but especially on "One Night" flipping one of my favorite Tupac samples," he tells Billboard. "I'm excited about this song because I got to incorporate my love for not only music but spoken word."

"One Night (Tupac Interlude) will appear on Cannon's forthcoming mixtape The Gospel Of Ike Turn Up, My Side Of The Story due Nov. 16.
