Thanks to a new offer from Verizon, customers of Big Red will be able to watch live local and primetime games all without using a single byte of data. They simply have to download NFL Mobile to get started.

It’s a big day for football fans, who will be enjoying their first full Sunday of pigskin action on September 11. And now, they won’t have to be chained to their television sets in order to do so.

Thanks to a new offer from Verizon, Big Red customers can watch live local and primetime games all without using a single byte of data. So if you’re keeping tabs on one game on your phone while finding another on your tablet all while following the game that’s on at the bar, you won’t have to pay to multitask. At least, not with money. And not to Verizon.

Starting this weekend, all games on CBS, NBC, ESPN, FOX, and NFL Network can be streamed directly to your device, and to heighten your NFL Mobile experience, you can also check out a number of other apps Verizon is offering in anticipation of the new season. There’s NFL Redzone, which allows fans to “catch every touchdown from every game on Sunday afternoons,” and is available as an in-app purchase for $2 per month.

The NFL Mobile app also gives you full schedules and standings so you’re always in the know about who’s leading who — fantasy leaguers, take note!

As per the fine print, this deal is “available to Verizon Wireless postpay customers over LTE.” Note, however, that other app activity, which includes downloading and browsing, will count against your Verizon Wireless data plan. That said, “additional data and/or bill credits will be provided to cover data usage for ads included in NFL video content,” Verizon adds.

The NFL Mobile app is available for both the iPhone and Android devices, calling itself the “best, pure football app for any fan.” And while you can download the app regardless of whether or not you’re a Verizon customer, you’ll only be able to stream live games if you’re part of the Big Red network.
